Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 2008 with an intake of 60. Subsequently, the intake was increased to 90 in 2009-2010 and 120 from the year 2010-11. The department is certified by ISO 9001:2015 and accredited for three years by NBA expert team. The department has well qualified, experienced teaching faculty and supporting faculty, to impart knowledge and skills.
In the department there are 23 teaching staffs and 9 supporting staffs. The department has excellent facilities and has well defined laboratories with excellent state of art equipments and software related to the field of Engineering. The student strength of the department is 312.
The department has a computer lab with 60 workstations and two servers with all the required software and peripherals as per Anna University and Autonomous syllabus.
The department conducts National level technical symposium every year for students. We organizes faculty development programs, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, industrial visits to update the student’s skills. We also encourage the students in the extracurricular activities like Sports, Cultural etc.,
We have conducted AICTE sponsored Two Weeks Faculty Development Programme on Responsibility of Higher Education Institutions under AICTE in implementing Sustainable Development Goals with an amount of 5 Lakhs in 2021.
We have an ADVANCED ANTENNA DESIGN AND CHARACTERIZATION LABORATORY sponsored by AICTE under MODROB sanctioned with 11 Lakhs in the year 2019.
We have conducted AICTE sponsored National Conference NCCOMNET ’11 with an amount of Rs.2 lakhs in the year 2011.
We are conducting National Conference on Advanced Research and Innovations in Information and Communication Engineering (ARICE) every year.
We do conduct Project Exhibitions every year to motivate the students to make innovations in the field of Electronics and Communications. Three best projects are awarded by our Management with cash prizes.
Three projects have been selected by IEDC and an amount of 3 lakhs has been sanctioned for the projects.
One of our student Mr.Barathwaj N.R.G is the National Player of Softball. He has won many prizes in last two years. He has been selected as the best player in the South zone.
Anusruthi of III ECE won 2 gold medals (Senior Female Cadre and U21 Senior Cadre) in south zone karate championship held at Hyderabad.
In our department, 34 students got University ranks in the Anna University.
Ms.Swetha Devi G got the gold medal in the batch 2011-2015.
In our department we have a placement record of 90% students placed in various companies. About 20% of students have gone to higher studies in the Foreign Universities.
We have a placement record of 100% in the year 2021 -2022.
In our department, 9 faculties have completed Ph.D and 14 faculties are pursuing Ph.D.
In our department 16 faculties have completed all eight modules of NITTT.
The department is Institutional member of IEEE, ISTE and IETE which organizes various value-added programs for the benefit of the students. All the staff members and students are member of ISTE and IETE.
